My computer wont stop downloading. I dont know what its downloading, i dont
know where its downloading it from. But its racking up my bandwidth at
6K/sec non-stop for about 3 days now. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix
this, im all ears.
Running - Windows XP Pro (SP1)
Firewall - Zone Alarm
Internet Connection - Cable Connection
Also running netStats to view my transfer info.
Ive tried the following programs thinking maybe its a virus/spyware.
Kaspersky AV, Hijack This, SpyBot, SwatIt, PestPatrol, SpyHunter, The
Cleaner, A Squared, Escan, Adaware
None of these programs have picked up on anything.
Ive checked the running processes and have even turned off EVERYTHING but
critical windows processes, and that doesnt stop things.
Ive tried turning off BITS and that did nothing.
I checked the registry (run, runservices etc) and saw nothing out of the
ordinary...
After tryin all this i started to wonder if my monitor was a little skewed,
so i tried out netGrid as well. Same result. Im definately downloading
things...however, the interesting part of it is that if i use Zone Alarm to
turn off all internet activity, the downloading continues. I cant use the
internet in any capacity, but somehow, the downloading just keeps on going.
And i am not on a network.
Im out of ideas at this point, and since no AV program seems to catch
anything, im wondering if it might be a windows issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
