Connecting to a windows2k server with proxy

This is a tough one so I'm hoping someone can help me. I can connect to our
Windows 2000 server and see folders and files with our office Mac. What I
would like to do is receive and send e-mails and surf the internet. I have
proxy server and exchange server installed on Windows 2K and I would like to
setup the Mac to be able to connect and use these services. Can someone
please tell me on how to set this up?

You don't mention which version of Mac OS you're using but as I recall
Mac OS 9 and earlier could not use Windows Proxy. It must use SOCKS.

I don't know if this still applies to Mac OS X.
