Connect Win98 -> XP. How?

Carl

I want to use the transfer wizard to movement setting from my old win98
machine to my new XP machine. The Microsoft advice page says to connect
the machines with a "null modem cable." The problem is that that I
can't find any such thing anywhere. Are there any alternatives?

ThanksCarl

Funny terminology, because I'd use the term "crossover cable", which you
should easily be able to get at a computer shop, or make yourself even, out
of a regular RJ45 CAT5 networking cable:

if you are up to it ...save all your files and settings in a folder on the
"old" drive ...

remove it from the old machine ...set the drive to slave and put it in the
new machine ...

also , a crossover network cable can be used (or router/hub)
