sounds like name resolution issue. do you have WINS server? if not, have you enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP?

Hello,

The Nt4 doesn't have DNS and WINS installed, and I enable NetBIOS.
I still can not find server.

I tried to use search function to search the computer name, and I couldn't
find any computer, even I can ping the tcp/ip address.

Thanks

Please post "ipconfig /all" from the new computer, and from a couple computers
that have no problems.

Well.

To start, both computers are on the same subnet - 10.0.0/24.

You say that there's NO DNS or WINS server on the domain? Then all name
resolution is using Broadcast. If not the problem, this can't help.
Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Hybrid

Hybrid, or H-node, queries the name server first, then tries broadcast. Note
your working computer:
Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Broadcast

Windows XP works best in a domain with a DNS server.

Is there a reason why you're using broadcast name resolution?
