Configuration problem

the last couple times I have rebooted my puter I am getting three different
messages 2 are the same and both display in notebook with file name
desktop(3).ini and state as copy/pasted:[.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21787

the second/third states that the system configuration is not working and to
click the normal start up on the general tab....I have tried this and it
comes up with access denied but it still reboots and now the normal start up
is selected, it wasn't before
any ideas on how to solve this and get make sure everything is working ok

I recently installed Mcafee suite 7 and was having a problem before this
that gave me an error messge of 676 line busy, I was using restore for this
and think that might be part of problem because I now have multiple icons for
85% of my control panel programs, I am still getting the 676 line busy after
end of each session the on the internet or on my outlook express but I am now
using run and reset log to solve this problem but it still means rebooting
before each sign on for usage....any help would be greatly appreciated....I
am getting frustrated

Hi thanks for the information, was able to get this to work via method 2 of
article, but now getting pop up stating need to click normal and changes will
be undone, not sure what I am doing here and if I should be using the reply
in my outlook express newsgroup or this one but need answers, have looked at
second article about xp and does not explain what to do if this
happens...please advise

Since the problem has been resolved and your computer seems to be
functioning normally, check the box to 'Don't show this message or launch'
and press OK

ok for the most part I agree the computer is functioning normally, but
techniquely until this error 676 is fixed it is still having a problem
somewhere, as well as what I think started this whole problem is the
duplication of the icons on the firewall after restore was used to try and
correct the orginal 676 problem, what do you think should I still do as you
suggested and would that be the pop up after start up that I click as don't
display or launch....???? sorry getting bogged down in all this information.

For the control panel icons, try links

With regards to the pop-up, it should not re-appear after you check the box
and click OK.

With regards to the error 676 problem, somebody else will have to assist us
