Config Error Message

On this Windows XP Home computer, I'm getting "Error loading config.
Unrecognized version! Defaults will be used" followed by "Error in file.
***default***" every time I boot the computer up. When I click "OK" the
errors go away and the machine performs as it should, but I'd like to get
rid of the messages. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Hi Gerry,

Go to Recovery Console and type:

cd system32\config
ren system system.old
ren system.alt systemalt.old
copy c:\windows\repair\system
copy c:\windows\repair\regback\system
exit
