Computers rebooting

Windows 2000 computers on Netware 6.0 network are
rebooting. We have 3-Com and Intel NICs. Sometimes happens
several times over two days then not again until the next
week.

Event Viewer Save Dump message:

"The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck
was: 0x000000b8 (0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000,
0x00000000). Microsoft Windows 2000 [v15.2195]."

Any help in overcoming this problem appreciated.

make sure DS is clean & healthy

make sure you are using the latest nwclient & patches

make sure you have the server updated to the latest patches & oplocks level1
& 2 are set correct

SLP is setup properly on the server, & distributed properly to workstations
via dhcp

DNS setup properly

that speed/duplex on *everything* is hardset, & hardset correctly

latest drivers for everything (nic/chipset/controller/etc)

check cables, make sure everything is cat5e certified, not using flat
cables/cat3/etc (ive seen it in a lot of places)

purge all volumes & turn off compression

make sure there is more than 10% free on EVERY volume

make sure bios/firmware to everything (server/raid
cards/switches/workstations/etc) up to date

Look at what is common to the reboot episodes. Eventually a
pattern will emerge. We'd been having reboot problems for months
on W2K pro and above. It finally proved to be a printer driver
causing it. We changed the driver used for that model of printer
and haven't had a reboot on the fixed machines since.

hope this helps!
