Computer Won't Go Into Standby Automatically

I'm running XP Home Edition and my computer won't go into standby
automatically. However it will go into standby manually using the Standby
option in the Turn Off Computer options box. Any suggestions on where to
start fixing the problem? Standby is setup in the Display Properties/Power
Options Properties box.

I'm sorry, I was wrong about the computer going into standby when manually
doing it. XP goes through the process of going into standby including
turning of the output to the monitor and shutdowning down one of my two
harddrives. The other continues to run. Any help would be appreciated.
