Hi, Can anyone please advise on problem with computer that turns off after
approx 45 minutes. It only happens once a day, usually after first startup of
the day, after the initial turn off it will happily run all day. The machine
is brand new and running Windows Vista Ultimate. GeForce 8800 Ultra Graphics
card plus an extra TV card, 3 gig DDR2 memory, 2 x 500 gig SATA hard drives,
X-Fi sound blaster sound card, Intel Core2Quad Q6600 2.4 ghz Processor. Hope
someone can help, this is driving me crazy. Thanks in advance, Eric.

Well I don't know if this is your problem or not, but *my* desktop computer
is set for the monitor/hard disk never to turn off. Is yours set that way?
To find out, open your control panel...then *power options*, then see where
*your* options are set. It might be at 45 minutes...this is assuming there's
no activity on your computer in those 45 minutes.

Sounds like a hardware problem. Start by making sure that all screens are
clean and all fans are working.

If the settings for shutting down aren't it, get it back to the dealer for
repair or replacement. Don't waste your time and maybe end up with problems
after warranty
