Hi, I have been trying to help someone install a radio control program for a Kenwood transceiver onto a laptop. I have downloaded and installed the Silabs CP210x USB to UART Bridge VCP Driver onto the laptop as instructed and the port is showing in the device manager.
I then downloaded the kenwood ARCP (radio control program). However when I try to run this software, I get an error 'com port is inactive'.
Incidentally, I have also plugged a wave node wn2 into the USB but the laptop does not recognise this device either.
I am a novice so any advice would be appreciated.

I'm old school, to me a "com port" looks like this ... sorry, can't be of more help.
