Compatible Printers

Good Morning all,
Does anyone know which printers are compatible with Vista? I have a Lexmard
2300 all-in-one that Vista recognizes as a scanner and fax, but wont
recognize as a printer. Any sugestions on a driver or printers that work with
Vista?
Thanks, John Smith

The Epson Stylus Photo R220 printer is not a Lexmark, but it does work as
designed in Vista, including the software provided on CD with the printer.
In addition, it is very cheap (but not "cheep", as in
poorly-designed-and-built.). In fact, it is very well built and designed.
It does use ink fairly fast, but cartridges are fairly cheap, when compared
with other printers.

I haven't tried printing directly on a CD or DVD yet, but I'm sure it will
work as designed, since the software installed without complaint. It also
prints pretty fast when compared with Lexmark printers (My last printer was
a Lexmark. I still have it sitting in a storage room somewhere, and it
still works, but not as well as my new Epson.)

I just bought a new HP Deskjet 6980. When installing Vista the printer was
recognized and installed with the correct drivers. It works great. If you
are looking for a new printer that will run with Vista I would highly
recommend it.

My Canon i560 works on Vista without a disc or anything. I plugged it into
my computer's USB port and Vista picked it right up without any help at all
and it was ready to go in seconds.

Is going to depend on which version you are running vista 86 or vista 64.
You might try the vista.hardware group
I had no problems with 86 with an old Lexmark, Canon and Brother. Nothing
worked on 64
