Common value from Filtered list with text

I asked this question before but maybe i needed to simplify it. so i'll try. Assume worksheet A column B1:B20 have a list of names, Sally John, Bill, Fred, etc.. The data in sheet A column C1:C20 shows a different value lets say itemizing hours worked for different days. If i want to show a value of Sally's hours worked on sheet B with a cell that captures "Sally's name only from the filtered list in sheet A", is there a function in excel that can pull a single common value from a filtered list in a different sheet?
