In Windows XP I knew where to go and do these steps but in Vista where do I
go?

Start your Command Prompt :- (Or open the DOS prompt as some might call it)

Start -> run -> cmd -> OK - Or go to Programs/Accessories/Command Prompt in
windows

TIA

To start cmd in Vista, simply go to the Start Orb and type "cmd" without
the quotes in the Search box. You will see cmd appear above. You can
then right-click it and run as Administrator if you need to do something
elevated. Or you can add Run to your Start Menu by customizing the Start
Menu properties.

Refer to Vista's Help for how to customize the Start Menu.

Enter "cmd" in your start menu search box, and hit ENTER. And the
Accessories program group should still have a shortcut to it, at least my
Vista machines had it by default.

or - on the Right click on the vista "Start" --> properties --> select to
customise your tool bar --> scroll down until you can click to view the run
option
