COM Port number

Hi, after much trouble, I have managed to install a TDK Bluetooth dongle on
my PC (XP SP2), and get it to use TDKs drivers rather than Microsoft's.

I want to use the Activesync functionality via Bluetooth to my iPAQ.

Unfortunately I'm not able to set it up, though, as the COM Port numbers
that have been set up for Serial Bluetooth Connections are numbered too high
(COM37 & COM38). (Probably becuase of all the install hassles I had)

I have the most recent version of Activesync (3.7.1).

How do I reset the COM port numbers so that it starts from the beginning? I
only have one hardware COM port (COM1), so I should be able to set up COM2,
3, 4 etc as Bluetooth virtual Serial COM Ports.

Your advice will be much appreciated.

I've had a similar problem with a USB to serial adapter. You can
go to the advanced serial port setup and change its port number
back down to a low number. Your hardware port probably occupys
com1/3, so try choosing 2 or 4, or a higher number. It may say it
is already in use, but go ahead and try it if you don't have
another serial gizmo attached.
