clue to find corrupted places by error to endnotes

I think I have a corrupted file. Have got some advice on how to repair it.
Still going on. Find out some points which might help to figure out corrupted
parts sooner.

I have some endnotes. Due to requested format, I changed endnote numbers at
end of the file, not to be superscript (I did it manually as I couldn't
figure out how to do it through Word commands. I know this is the worst
method). Later I am asked to change place of some paragraphs which affected
endnotes as well.

Now each time I repoen the file I get error instead of endnote numbers in
text body. Meaningless to amend them as they reappear in next reopen. This
phenomena doesn't appear to all my endnotes but some.

I think those endnotes are coruppted but don't know how to fix them.
Is there any comments?

Hi Khoshravan

I suggest that you:

1. Make a secure backup copy of your document.

2. In the *body* of the document, delete each of the endnotes that you think
is causing a problem.

3. Do File > Save As and save as Web Page (*htm; *html).

4. Close Word and then re-open it.

5. Open the file you saved, and then do File > Save As and save as a Word
document.

6. Reinsert your end notes.

Hope this helps.
