Closing Outlook Note requires multiple clicks (or Alt-F4)

This is experienced on every XP PC here, using Outlook 2003 SP2.

Any note is opened, or a new one created but to close it, the "X" must
be clicked anything from 2 to 7 times. Using Alt-F4 to close it has
the same effect.

I've tried removing all add-ins. No luck.

Any ideas?

No ideas?! It;s not a show-stopper, but it is pretty frustrating. I
have no idea what could be causing it.
