closing of a dialogue box

I always receive a message that asked me to close an open dialogue box
whenever I try to open any WORD document.The document will then take up to 3
minutes to open.
Can anyone teach me how to close the open dialogue box ?Thank you.

One thing that often causes dialog boxes to open behind the application is
Norton AV's office plug-in. If you are using that AV software, turn off the
plug-in.

With some versions of the Norton product it may be necessary to unregister
the calling DLL by running the following command line from Windows > Start >
Run e.g.

regsvr32 /u "c:\program files\norton antivirus\officeav.dll"
or
regsvr32 /u "c:\program files\norton systemworks\norton
antivirus\officeav.dll"
