Why does this window open, often multiple times whilst on
internet, it shows up on the toolbar, but unable to open,
can only move or minimize or close.

Hi,

It sounds that perhaps you may have a spyware problem. The appearence of
several windows, along with being unable to close them is a hint that you may
need some help.

You may first wish to consider CWShredder- a removal utility designed to
remove variants of CoolWebSearch. Download CWShredder here:

http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/cwshredder.zip

However, this may not be the only spyware program that is silently running
on your computer. Therefore, it is advisable to download the following program
to remove these other programs you may not know about. The program is called
AdAware, and you can download it from:

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/

Once you download and install the program, *_ensure that you have updated it
with the latest definition_*. This will ensure that you will be protected
against the latest versions of such programs.

To learn more about Spyware, how to deal with these situations, and how to
better prevent them, you may be interested in the following article:

If you are unable to view the above sites, you may need to delete your Hosts
file. You can rename your hosts file through the following steps:

1) Click on Start, then find files or folders.

2) Type the following: "hosts"
(and yes, include the quotation marks).

3) Delete the file following files:
C:\windows\hosts
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

Altrus

Thanks Altrus,
I did as you suggested and AdAware seems to have fixed the
problem.
Many thanks
