Client connections do not logoff after closing application

Dear Everyone,

I have a Windows 2000 Server with SP4 and Citrix XP
Feature Release 4 and SP2 installed. I setup users to
open a specific application automatically in the user's
environment setting.

Normally, users will be logged off automatically after
they closed the application. However, users' connection
do not close/logoff after they closed the application on
this server. It just leave a blank screen with the
wallpaper on the backgroup. I have to manually reset each
user's connection when the application is closed
gracefully or not in the server.

I experience the same problem when using Citrix ICA client
or Terminal Services Client.

Any help will be greatly apprecaited.

Regards,

Sunny

Check in Task Manager or Citrix Server Administration which process
is still running in the user session when they have closed the
application but still see the desktop.
Antivirus programs can have this effect, to mention one possibility.

Dear Vera:

Thanks a lot for the suggestion. The processes that are
still running after the user closed the application are:
csrss.exe
winlogon.exe
ssonsvr.exe
wfshell.exe

They are either Windows executables or Citrix excutables.

Could you provide more help?

Regards,

Sunny

Dear Vera:

Thanks a lot for the solutions. I actually tried the
registry change before posting the question here. That
change for some reason did not work. The opened
executables do not close even I put the exe list in the
registry for closing.

However, the logoff.exe works. Thanks very much.

I hope Microsoft or Citrix could determine what causes the
problem that did not exist in the past. In the meantime, I
am grateful that a work around is available.

Really appreciate the help.

Regards,

Sunny
