clearing address bar autocomplete items

About 6 months ago I went to a website of questionalble
content, bad on me. Now I can't make the web url go
away. Every time I type the first letter of the website
in the address bar, the entire name pops up in the
autocomplete menu. This dispite history clears, cookie
deletion and otherwise doing all I know to clear such
remembered content. Google's web address does the same
thing.

How do I clear these website names (urls) from coming
up? Also are there any files and folders that are know
for retaining information from web sites visited, caches
or temp file sites that can easily be cleared.

Steve,
You probably have corruption in the History folder or it's index.dat file.
Free History Eraser from
http://smartprotector.com/eraser/free-history-eraser.htm will delete the
History folder (and the index.dat file) and a new one will be created when
you restart.
Or the History folder can be deleted manually:
