Indestructable autocomplete URLs

The autocomplete feature keeps listing several urls in the address bar,
even after I (a) deleted the history, (b) cleared entries from the
autocomplete dialog in tools/internet options/content, and (c) used
RegEdit to ensure nothing was stored in TypedURLs.

What could be causing these utterly un-erasable URLs? I certainly
don't suspect malware, because the URLs are for benign addresses that I
actually visited.

I guess it's no big deal, but it's bothering the crap outta me that I
have no idea where these addresses are stored, or why the browser is
behaving so erratically.

Are these URLs also in Favorites?

Autocomplete for web addresses also works off the hidden index.dat file in
the user account's History folder. You'll have to delete the entire folder
to reset it: http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm
