Clean install problem/Error

Doing clean install and got a Fatal Error message: "One
of the components that windows needs to continue setup
could not be installed. The request could not be
performed because of an I/O device error"
ERROR: SXS.DLL: Syntax error in manifest or policy
file "E:\1386\ASMS\10100\MSFT\Windows\GDIPLUS.MAN" on line

Hi Bill,

Make sure that the CD-ROM drive is working properly. You could also boot
with a Windows 98 boot disk, Fdisk and Format the drive and then copy the
I386 folder from the CD to the hard drive and then run Winnt from the i386
directory on the hard drive. The other issue is that you could have a bad
CD.
