Chkdsk shuts down windows

Hi All
I built myself a new PC and have a small problem here.
Specs here,
Intel board-D865PERL
Intel CPU-2.4C
Video Card-ATI Radeon 7000
Memory-1024 mgb PC2100

My problem is , when i run chkdsk it comes up with this message when it
restars,blue screen,
STOP : 0X0000007E (0x0000005 , 0XF7D8551D , 0Xf7CA2C3C , 0XF7CA293C )
FS_REC.SYS-ADDRESS F7D8551D base at F7D85000 , Date stamp 3b7d8361

I restart the PC and everything works ok , but i get that message every time
i run chkdsk.
If i run chkdsk in comand prompt i don't get the message.
What is it trying to tell me ?
The motherboard says it supports a 8X video card and i may have got the
wrong one , i have a 4X card.
I just took it for granted it would be backwards compatable.
Am i wrong there ?
Hope someone can help me out here.
Thanks Bunck

Carl, go here www.rage3d.com and download and try a different graphic
card driver. The main difference between the
newer MB 8X AGP slot and older 4X slots is the voltage requirement which
is lower. You can screw up the MB if you
install a 4x Card with the higher voltage.

Hi Rich
Thanks a lot,I guess i better get out and buy a diferent card.
I didn't see anything on there site for a driver that would change the 4x to
compatable with 8x.
Thanks a lot
