Why not just go one extra step, download a full Linux distribution.
My burning software of choice was Easy CD Creator before I began using
Mandrake Linux. The K3B burning application in this I find to be far
easier to use. No such thing as crippled software either.
A whole host of other reasons exist for why you may wish to use Linux.
Other Linux users here know what I mean.
K3B is nice and yes, very easy to work with.
My son dual boots 2k and Linux; he's 7.
I've had several flavors fo Linux for some years now.
I've been meaning for some time to give it it's own drive but lately my
PS has been crapping out.
12volt spiking down to 10.8, 5.5volt spiking down to 4.8.
Killed power to 7 or 8 hard drives, dropped the OC and pulled an older
identical AT case over and spliced 2 drives and 2 CDRWs into the AT PS
of the older case to get by. I need to shop the specs on a new main PS tho.
PC Power & Cooling is a damn fine PS but pricey.
I liked the Long leads and lots of connectors of the Enermax.
I'll probably upgrade to around 530 watts.
In the not too distant past I ran 8 hard drives off an old PC P&C 220watt PS
but that was with an old AMD 450.
It might be a pain for the OP to boot Knoppix just for burning CDs but once
he's in there looking around.... he may like what he sees.
I brought home a Unix/QNX formatted disk from work that I'm hoping I can
edit the files on with Knoppix. They're both offshoots of Unix so I'm hoping
it'll access/edit it with no problems.
