Changing Users - Files Gone!

Guest

I created a new user account for myself but now I have no way of accessing
the files that I had access to before creating the account.

i.e. When I open My Music or My Pictures all I can see are the samples not
any of the files I originally had.

Thanks in advance. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Amena,
You need to copy the data/files/folders from the Old account to the new one!.

You created a new user.
You logged into the new user account.
In that new user's account - you don't see the files and folders of the
other user's account.
OKAY... That's to be expected.

You have to copy the files from the other account to the new account. They
are not just going to magically appear. ;-)

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>

Find your old account - go into that directory and locate the My Documents
folder (could be labeled <username>'s Documents) and copy the contents of
that folder to the new user account's my documents. If it says "Access
Denied" when you try to get into said folder....

Read *carefully* - do not just skim the page and start following steps.
There is important information there dependent on the version of Windows XP
