Changing slides in a presentation

I want to be able to change the slides in a presentation I am giving standing
up, ie not in front of my computer. The presentation is projected through a
projector (2nd screen). I have a mouse on a long cable, but a mouse click
won't change the slide. What do I do? This must be a very basic
requirement, and I am sure I have seen people clicking things to change
slides, but I can't find out how to do it.

Hello!

In PowerPoint 2003 (at least) it is possible to advance slides with a mouse
click. Choose "Slide Transition" in Slide Show dropdown menu and check "On
mouse click" in the Advance Slide options.

Hi,

I use a remote presenter device from Interlink Electronics which plugs in
via a usb. I used it the other day and I could change slides from the back
of the room. Very annoying if someone else is presenting <vbg>.
