Changing Screen Resolutions

is there a program to allow different screen resolutions to be used by
different users as they log on to Win XP professional.

I use 1024x768 but my wife would prefer 800x600. Is this possible by
running a program on startup.

Thanks, I just bought a Sun monitor the pinout of which has been
changed to PC video configuration. Win98SE only recognizes it as a
"plug-and-play" device, allowing me only to change the resolution and
colour depth, not the refresh rate.

Multires1.47 now gives me the option of choosing a refresh rate up to
100Hz. I have a nagging doubt though, because the technician who
demonstrated the monitor to me pre-sale said it could only support
85Hz. maximum....

How reliable is the information provided by Multires?

Pretty. If the monitor is running over its maximum and you get no
visual indication, you'll hear a high pitched whine. THats the Line
Output transformer begging for mercy :)

I don't think you need a 3rd party program to do that, do you?

I think each user can login at their preferred resolution. Eh! Maybe I'm
wrong, but I can't test it because I have only 1 user on my machine.

Hey, maybe a compromise. Just make your fonts a tad bigger in 1024 and your
wife will like it.

Excellent. It gets the data directly from Windows and the monitor itself.

Multires has a sister program that will tell you all about your monitor.

Thanks Bob. Unfortunately, Multires and Moninfo seem to disagree on my
Sun monitor. The first lets me set it to 1280X1024 at 100Hz, while the
latter tells me the monitor can only support 74Hz in ANY resolution!

What's worse, my wife assures me that the monitor has less flicker
Multires's 66Hz setting than at "100Hz".

Wish it were that simple !!
Its the games that my wife plays - they cannot be resized and are too
small on a 1024x768 screen for her liking
