changing language settings...help

I bought my laptop in Hong Kong not knowing much about computers, operating
systems and about local language setting in different countries I jumped into
a purchase. The computer came with the Home XP program already installed. At
the time I presumed that the XP program provided me with an option of
selecting a language setting to my liking. However, I was bitterly
disappointed and frustrated to find that all the tool bars and icon including
help options are in Chinese. I have two questions to post:
Question one: Is there an option or selection in which I can reconfigure my
settings to run XP in English?
Question Two: If Question one is No, is there an upgrade or a tool that can
be downloaded to fix the problem.

1. No
2. No

You can not change the language of Windows XP.
If you want Windows XP in English, you need to buy the full version of
Windows XP in English.

The seller may be able to give you other options.

Hi

You can't change the Language of XP. You will have to purchase an English
full retail version XP CD. You can then either install the English version
over the top of the Chinese one, or dual boot both Languages.

Windows XP is written in specific language versions, therefore one
cannot change it from one language version to another. You'll need
to purchase a "Full Version" of Windows XP in the language version
you desire, reformat your drive and install it "clean".

Or if you have an available empty drive or partition, you can install
another "Full Version" of Windows XP in a different language version
and create a dual-boot configuration.

A good third-party partitioning program is Partition Magic 8.
