Changing Default Outlook Profile Name for all users

I am trying to customise an Office 2003 Installation so that when a new user
logs on, the Outlook Profile name is based on the users full name.

For example: If user John Smith logs on, a default profile is created called
'Default Outlook Profile'. I want the profile name to be John Smith.

Now, I have got this to work before in Outlook 2000. In the custom
installation wizard, there was a section called 'Workgroup and corporate
settings'. In this section, there was a General Tab, with the option "Profile
Name". Calling the profile name %FULLNAME% created a new profile based on the
users full name.

In the Office 2003 Custom installation wizard, there is no similar section.
I have tested all Office 2003 Custom Installation settings related to
profiles, but nothing seems to work.

Any help would be appreciated!

After the installatio wizard go to Control Panel | Mail | Show Profiles.
Copy the Profile, name it to the name you want and delete the old profile.

Why? For support purposes, it would be much better to have every one using
the same profile name.

Outlook 2003 provides no way to do this unless you want to script a .prf for
each person.

Hi Sue,

Thanks for the reply.

This scenario was possible with Office 2000 using the Custom Installation
Wizard and editing the 'workgroup and corporate mail' settings --> General
Option.

Has this functionality been removed with the Office 2003 Custom Installation
Wizard?

As I think I said, you can't do that in Outlook 2003. It's a bad idea
anyway, IMO.

The reason I asked (again) is according to the Microsoft's 'Office 2003
Policy Template Files and Deployment Planning Tools' documentation, there is
a section called in one of the .ADM files called Outlook Corporate Mail
Settings.

I cannot find this setting anywhere in the Custom Installation Wizard for
Office 2003 using the latest .ADM and .OPA files.

I asked Microsoft earlier this week and was told that entire section is no
longer supported and should not have been included in the documentation.
