Changing a systems default wallpaper

G

Greg Smith

I would like to change the default wallpaper that users gets when they log
onto a system from "Bliss" to a custom wallpaper.

I have scanned the registry and found where to change the login graphic but
not a user default wallpaper.

Does anybody know where this is in the registry?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your response.

I looked at the site you sent me to and it seems to deal with the login
screen (I already know how to change that via the registry) and how to
change MY profile. I am interested in changing the DEFAULT profile
wallpaper.

Thank you for your response.

These changes seem to apply only MY login. I am configuring a multi-user
machine and I want to change the default wallpaper from "bliss" to my own.

Right click on the desktop/properties/desktop. Browse to the picture you want
and ok out.

Greg,

If you're wanting to customize the "Default user" template / wallpaper
settings, then read below:

The "Default User" is a template for creating new users. When you create a
new user account and login the first time, all of the Start menu entries and
Document entries, Desktop settings from the "Default User" are initially
assigned to your new user account. See this MS-KB for more information:

Edit the C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\NTUser.dat file and set the
