I have a problem with an xp professional with sp3..
I set an image as wallpaper but every boot of xp the desktop is
blank with no images... (icons are there but background is totally black,
or the color i set...).
I change directory at the image, try to set no change at activedesktop in
windows registry, but I don't solve it...
I think is something in windows registry that disable wallpaper images, but
I don't know where to look
Any suggestions?
Thank you

Please try these:

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Line 142. (r-h column) Allow Wallpaper/Background Changes - Disable
Line 195. Restore Wallpaper Views
Line 339. XP Web\Wallpaper Defaults

This one was already tried with no results...
Line 195. Restore Wallpaper Views

This one I have tried now, but nothing changed...
Line 339. XP Web\Wallpaper Defaults

This one is a zip with default images... I already have it, how can it
change something?

Thank you

Try my Desktop Reset tool. Download it here

Do that and you will have more problems than you started with.

The link is nothing to do with MS, but a link to malware.

My account was administrator.
I try this .reg, but it was not the problem....
Download, install, update and run these malware scanners:

Malwarebytes© Corporation
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam/program/mbam-setup.exe

SuperAntispyware
http://www.superantispyware.com/superantispywarefreevspro.html

Superantispyware was already installed, and the computer was clean.

I solve the problem... it was a "bad working" installation of Ultravnc...
I reinstall the program and I solve it...

Thank you all for help!

Those logo's are real and I was told by Microsoft that she has permission to
use them. I filed a complaint to MS about them and was told there is no
violation. So as it turns out she is a real a real MVP.

I have exactly the same problem. It became an issue for me as well on
the same day - anything to do with upgrading to IE8?

By a total fluke I just fixed it:
I went into the Display Properties, Desktop tab, and changed the Color
(to white, as it happens, but I don't know if it could have been any
colour).
Suddenly, my wallpaper reappeared. I changed Color back to what it was
before and the wallpaper remained.

I don't know what'll happen when I restart the machine, though...
