Change sort order in Win Explorer

T

Thorbjorn Sundboe

Hi,

When I view files in Win Explorer by name, it apparantly still uses type as
a sort criterion. What I want to accomplish is to have my shortcuts appear
on top without using type as the sort order. If I sort by name and the
shortcuts have names that are preceeding the name of a folder, the folder
appears first.

Any idea how I can accomplish this?

Cheers, Thorbjorn

What you can do is Explorer|Search, then in the file system search criteria
enter;

*.lnk

then File|Save Search

Any idea how I can accomplish this?

Move the shortcuts to a folder of their own, with only shortcuts in it and
no folders.

If sorted by Name:
Folders will be listed first.
Then files will be listed.
Internet Shortcuts (*.url) and any other shortcuts (*.lnk) will be listed
along with the files.

Hope this helps. Let us know.
