Cell Corners in FrontPage 2003

When I try to create round corners in the cell of a layout table that I have
filled with a background color the top square corners show in the background.
In other words, the round corner is looks superimposed on the sqaure cell,
but it does not replace the square corner. How can I create a cell with a
round corner on a background that has a color?
