Cd Writing issues

For some reason my CD burner recently went haywire.. I had been burning cds
earilier in the day and everything was working fine.. Now, whenever I attempt
to burn anymore cds, it stops before beginning and says that it was unable to
copy. It says to lower the writing speed, which I've done.. Aswell as getting
other blank discs, which I've done also... Nothing works and everywhere I've
gone for help so far has turned up no help or anything whatsoever.. Anyone
have any ideas?

Do you have *automatic* updates set for Windows, your music software, or any
software? Occasionally Windows updates will cause some first aid problems
with some hardware or other software.

It would help if you would state what equipment and software you are using
to burn CDs. :)

Sorry for not posting any of that, since it would be useful for you to
know.. But I'm using a AOpen DVD-1648 combo drive with the WMP's burner,
since my Nero hasn't worked before this happened..
