CD with photos won't open

I got a camera film developed from Drug Mart, and they provide a CD with the images scanned onto it. I have done this before so I know that the CD should open a picture reader from where I can copy the pictures to my computer.

But this time I got it done it doesn't work. I even took the CD back and they showed me that it was opening on their computer but when I brought it back it doesn't open in mine. My computer sees it as an empty disc. The only obvious difference between the two discs is that the old one was 48x and the new one that doesn't open is 52x, but I don't think that should matter. How can I get my notebook computer (Compaq Presario, Windows XP, Intel Centrino) to read the files?

Do I need to install a UDF reader? Or should I just give it up

Thanks

If you insert the disk and go to...My Computer
and select the icon for your CD Drive and choose
Explore...can you see the files?

I don't know if you need a UDF reader but maybe
the following links would be worth a look:
