I recently moved my Plextor CD-RW from the primary IDE channel to the secondary, now it is not showing up in my computer and not being found be hardware wizard. It was slave on primary and is still slave on the second channel. Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Effen

Do you have a master drive on your secondary IDE channel? If not, change
the Plextor to master and use the end {not middle} connector.

Does your drive show up in Device Manager {right click on My Computer and
select Properties and then the Hardware tab}?
If it does, try uninstalling and let Windows reinstall.

I have a DVD drive as primary on second IDE channel. I switched the DVD and CD-R as master and slave and now it is showing the CD-R but not the DVD. Both are reconized in the BOIS, it as if windows will not see the slave on the secondary IDE channel. Its the not cables, swap the ones from the primary and secondary and still not working. I have no idea how to fix this. Thanks agian for any help.

THanks for all the help, but what worked was uninstalling the secondary IDE channel in the device manager then rebooting and letting windows reinstall it. After windows reinstalled the IDE channel it found both drives on the secondary IDE channel. Hope this post helps other people that run into a similar problem
