CD-Rom autoplay stopped.

Both my two machines, XP home and pro, appear to have lost their CD-Rom
autoplay facility, both for the CD and DVDs. I can still open or run CDs and
DVDs but I'd like the autoplay back.

Yes, autoplay is ticked in Properties.
No, I do not have Easy CD
Registery setting autoplay is set at 1 and 91 as per MS advice and I have
admin privilges.
Drivers are up to date.
Think that covers the usual suspects.

Has anyone got any ideas how to solve this.

Go to http://search.microsoft.com.
Search on "autoplay repair wizard".
