Cd R Woes

A

Adam

I'm trying to copy some pics to a cd r. Each time I get F:\ is not
accessible. Incorrect function. I have ahead incd as a packet writer and I
can format a CD -rw but when I try to format the cd-r the start format is
greyed out.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks
Adam

Hi Adam,

You can't format a CD-R, only the CD-RW's. The CD-R is already formatted for
burning. Are you using the native burning function or IN-CD's? For the
native function to operate, you need to enable the imapi burning service and
also check that recording is enabled for the drive under its properties in
Windows Explorer.

Hi Rick

Thanks for the info re formatting.

I am using the IN-CD burning function, and when I try to move or copy to a
blank CD-R I get the followeing error message.
"F:\ is not accessible. Incorrect function"

So what do I need to do?

Thanks
Adam

Hi,

Start/run msconfig, go to the services tab - is the imapi burning service
enabled (checked)? If so, uncheck it and click apply/ok, then reboot. See if
that helps.

Hi Rick

Just to let you know I sorted it. Nero has always been a bit strange on my
machine, so I bit the bullett and installed Roxio. Everything is working
brilliantly.

Thanks for your help and time. Its appreciated.

All the best
Adam
