CD-R/RW DRIVE

My computer: Compaq Presario 2700 Notebook
My CD-R/RW Drive: Model No. UJDA330

I can't record onto CD-R or CD-RW discs. Even if the CD Writing Wizard goes
through the entire process and claims that I've successfully written the
files to the CD, when I put the CD in and open it, it shows as a blank CD.

Also, when I insert and open any CD that I *know* has files on it, I'm told
it's a blank CD.

What's going on? Do I need to buy a new CD-R/RW Drive?

Thanks!

If the drive is not reading or burning files it's possible that it's
worn out. Cdrw drives have a way of just quitting. That's it.
If the drive has age on it probably time for a new one. You could first
try a cddrive lense cleaner. That might give you
a little more use. But as cheap as drives are today ( in the twenty
dollar range ) a new one would be the best solution.
