CD-R multi speed

My CD player is 32x I have been burning music on 24x cd-
r discs fine.Just bought some 48X disc and when I go to
record or burn music on them the process is the same as
the 24x disc. I pick the songs I want to record it shows
the cd being created and says its complete but no sound
will come of the disc and it says that there is nothing
on the disc? But I can copy a 24x disc info on to the 44x
disc.Is there a difference in the disc when it comes to
recording on my 32x player?
Thank You!!

You should never burn at the maximum speed rating of the disk. If a CDR says
48x, then burn at 24x. The slower you do it the better the quality.

My Samsung is rated at 48x, each time I burn an audio CD at 48x I get
another coaster. You'll never be able to burn at 48x on your 32x burner,
logic says so. I'd be surprised if it even managed a full 32x. Stick to 24x
or lower and you should be OK.

Cheers,
Jjerry

You can generally burn data discs as fast as you like, but it is recommended to
not burn audio discs faster than 24x. CD players can have problems with the
reflectivity of discs burned at faster speeds.
