What is the easiest software to use to make an image of a commercial
game cd? I want to make backup copies to make an image, then if the
original goes bad, I can make a new CD. Really I do.

Would I put my home page and contact info on the bottom if I wasn't
legit?

For this thing CloneCD used to be the best. Especially if CD is protected.
Now CloneCD is no longer produced in Germany, but it is still produced, so i
bet you can find it with Google. If you decide to use it, then if your CD IS
protected, you also find and use ClonyXXL. Those two programs together are
really a bomb. (Clony detects type of protection and makes all necesarry
settings for cloneCD. Then you just run CloneCD from Clony and burn.). Note
however that some protected CD's can be read as slow as below 1x speed -
depending on protection. This is normal.
All above is very simple: you run Clony, insert CD, click "ScanCD", after CD
is scanned, you click "run CloneCD", insert blank, use Clony settings and
burn.

A friend wants my help using his PC to burn CD compilations from his audio
CD collection. What's the best way to do this?

I have programs to burn the image once it is made, I need a program
to make the CD image in the first place. I have some favorite games
that I would hate to lose to an accident with my 7 year old.

Why do kids like to stick CD's into any crack it will fit into? I lost 2 the
other day. Totally cracked and mutilated. :(

"EasyISO 1.3

EasyISO is a simple, standalone (no install) CD Burning software with
support for CDR/CDRW, DVD+RW, DVD-R and DVD-RW. It provides on-the-fly
burning without creating any temporary files. EasyISO supports Joliet
as well as Multisession, Disc Caching and Burn Proof. You can also
create bootable CDs and test write before burning. It uses the
standard or any other ASPI-driver."

This creates the ISO also.

But CloneCD IS intended for MAKING images and then copying to CDR. ClonyXXL
detects type of protection of original, sends all settings to CloneCD, which
then reads CD, makes an image and when image is done, burns to CDR or just
saves to HDD.
It's all-in-one program

There's only one small problem...if you have Safedisc or similar protection,
reading speed is below 1x, so i doubt on the fly will work...
