CD & CDR-RW drive

When I open my My Computer from the desktop and right click on my CD ROM
drive or my CDR-RW drive Windows displays a message that says explorer as
caused an error and will now shut down. Also when I try to burn a CDR the
process hangs from between 21% and 50% complete, and the only way to eject
the CD is to restart windows. But when writing to a CD-RW disk using packet
writing software and use it like a flopy it writes with no errors. I've used
the software that came with my Sony drive (B's Recording Gold) and Nero's
6.0, and it also hangs when using Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0.

Don't know if this is the culprit, but...
Packet writing software are reported to interfere with other CD writing
software.
It may also interfere more.
