Cardfile.exe - New Poster

I have used cardfile.exe since Windows 3.1 importing my
original cardfiles from 3.1 to 3.11 to Win95 to Win98
which I have currently on my home computer. At work I
have windows 2000 and I tried to copy my cardfile.exe to a
floppy and install it on my office computer. I keep
getting an error message telling me a file is missing. I
then went to microsoft's knowledge base and they told me
that I could insert my windows 98 cd do a run, search for
the file and install it from my Win98 CD. When I do this
it tells me that cardfile.exe not found.

My questions are - can I use cardfile.exe on Windows2000
(even though MS never does recommend doing so)? If so, I
have Win98 CD but it isn't on there and I have my original
floppies of Windows 3.1. Can I find cardfile.exe on those
floppies and install on my windows2000 at work? If not,
does anyone know where I can get the complete set of files
that I would need to install cardfile.exe on my work
computer?

It was recommended that I download AZZcardfile which is
supposed to be cardfile on steroids, but I don't like it.
Like the simplicity of the "old timey" rolodex card where
I can enter whatever I want without worrying about fields.

Thanks.

Running the Windows 3.11 Cardfile on Windows 2000 systems without any
problems. Simply copied the cardfile.exe and cardfile.hlp files into its own
folder. Used the Add wizard in Taskbar and Start Menu to insert "cardfile"
into Programs. comes up just tine, as it does in Win9X and Windows NT
This is one of those apps that MS should keep in perpetuity since some of
the addresses in my *.crd files date back to its first introduction in 1990 or
thereabouts.
