Am trying to save an excel file to D:drive but get this error message

you do not have access to the Folder `D:\`. see your administrator for access to this folder

I have the only account set up on this XP Home system , and i have not set up administrator rights ????

anybody any ideas ? it also states the message when i try the E drive and my Floppy drive just keeps saying please insert disc even though there is one in there ??

Is the D drive your CD/DVD writer?

It might be worth saving the Excel file to your hard drive, reset the PC and load up excel again to save to floppy. I've had permission problems with Excel that won't let me save it anywhere, and I've had to copy+ paste the data into a new worksheet and save it that way.

Thanks Ian ...Will try
The floppy was dead ..changed it and works now :thumb:

The D drive is a DVD rewriter
The E drive is a CD rewriter

If i save pictures or photos its best to save to cd or dvd for obvious reasons
