Can't Use Shared Contact list as an E-Mail Address Book

We are currently using Outlook 2007 and are sharing contacts with each other.
We can see the contacts, modify the contacts but we do not have the
capibility to e-mail mulitiple people from the address book or choose it to
be an e-mail address book in Outlook. Some of us cross reference work or
fill in for others but it makes it very difficult if they have to cut and
paste e-mail addresses instead of doing a look up while in the e-mail. Any
help is greately appreciated.
