Can't uninstall Norton AntiVirus

Norton AntiVirus is not listed under programs in the Add/Remove Programs
utility. I also tried deleting the folders themselves, but was unable to
remove everything. How can I find the uninstall program?? I need to set up
a new version but can't until this is uninstalled. Thanks!!!

I hate TROLLS as much as the next guy, but you keep posting this message to
people that are clearly NOT TROLLS, and are seeking legitimate help.

Thanks to IE's block sender, I'll never have to see anything from you again.
PLONK!

Look at the headers. And the way these questions are worded. It's the same
person doing this all over the groups. He/she is just changing the nickname
but it's all coming from the same place.

But I guess if you PLONK me, you can keep wasting your time with this troll.

It is not the same person, the posts are from people using the web based
newsgroups. The tip off is the CDO in the headers. All posts from the web
based newsgroups will have CDO in the headers.

Reinstall the old version and then you should get the listing in add/remove.

If I'm wrong about this I do apologize, both to the original poster and to
the group. And no Kelly, I don't take offence. I've been in tech support for
only five years and my visits to the groups have not been constant. But the
wording of these messages suggests that it was really the same person
,posting various, very basic questions. I don't mind helping even the newest
neophyte but, I don't want to waste my time playing with some kiddie
prankster who has nothing better to do.

I really wish there was a better way to identify posters. As was suggested
elsewhere, maybe this will all change when WebNews 3 is rolled out. In the
meantime, OK I understand about the CDO in the headers. But is there a good
reason why the IP address is always 10.40.1.29 10.40.1.163 10.40.1.165
10.40.1.164 10.40.1.164 10.40.1.161

Yes, because the system(s) that hands the message from the web based reader
to the NNTP servers have IP addresses in the 10.40.1.* network. When an
NNTP client hands a message to an NNTP server, the server records the IP
address for the NNTP-Posting-Host.

The newer version of the web based reader does track the original posters IP
address in the X-WBNR-ADDRESS (I think that's the custom header, anyways.)

.

Thanks for the info, John. When will the new version of
the web based reader be coming out? I hope it has other
helpful features like search by message IDs and post sort
order options! :)

John (aka jopa66): The following page may bring you up to speed:

You'll wonder how new users even manage to *post* a question, let alone
phrase it properly or be able to find out how to see responses.

Wow, no kidding! And anyone who values their privacy will not use it.

My apologies to you Robear, the group and the original posters. Seems like
the bad experience I had on another private newsgroup a couple years ago has
somewhat tainted my impression of NNTP. I really did come here to help where
I could. It just looked very suspiciously to me like someone was yanking our
chain. No need for details about those other groups. I'll probably still pop
in and out once in a while. Thanks for the links.

Hi John,

For this same reason (CDO posters), many here including MVP's generally
won't reply to these types of posts. Typically because they seldom ever
post back and/or can't find their post if they wanted to.

IMHO: CDO is the worst thing that happened to these groups.
