Can't transfer Outlook files

G

Guest

I have read all of the answers about transferring Outlook files from one
compute to another. None have helped.

I have an XP system with Outlook 2000. I have searched the hard drive for
..pst and .pab files. Both come up blank. I have then looked in the
directories where previous responses to this forum have instructed. Again, I
cannot find them.

Please advise on the following:

1. Where can I find my Outlook 2000 files on the old computer?
2. How can I transfer them to my new computer which is outfitted with
Windows Vista and Outlook 2003?

Thank you in advance for your help.

None "has" helped. Singular pronoun, singular verb.

What you have tried and what hasn't helped remains a mystery to us. Solve
that mystery if you need help in a newsgroup, where we can't see what you
did or read your mind. Realize that PST file are often hidden files.

This doesn't help. This is the folder conatin mail and post items....not the
address book and calendar.

I have clicked on allow hidden files under Explorer. I then did a search
trying to find *.pst files. None were found. And yet I can see all of my
addresses and contacts when I open Outlook. Now what?

No way to tell. You did something wrong. We don't know what you did, so we
can't tell you what you did wrong.

What are "mail and post items"? All Outlook items, including contact and
calendar, reside in the PST file. If Outlook is pointing to that folder,
then the PST file *is* there (otherwise you wouldn't be able to start
Outlook).
