can't start in safe mode

I need to start in safe mode so I can remove a virus I have on my computer
trojan.vundo. I get to the welcome page, click on administrator, and a black
page comes up with safe mode on all 4 corners and Microsoft (R) Wiondows XP
(R) (Build 2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519: Service Pack 2) across the top.
Then it freezes on this page. I can not see my desktop, and I can not access
any files. Can someone tell me how to access safe mode?

Thanks,

Hi,

Choose safe mode with command prompt instead, then run the software from the
command prompt.
