Cant set up XP home network

Just bought a PC w XP-Home. Trying to set up a home network with a Win 98 and a Win 2000. Used Wizard to set up the "host" which is my XP-Home. The third screen has "The Wizard found disconnected network hardware", while my NIC is "working properly" as the Device Manager said, and the network cable is surely one that worked before (in fact I tried three different cables and got the same msg). Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Hey Jeff,
If you were able to create a floppy disk with the Wizard, I
could use the files as my post will explain. Can you email
them to me? (e-mail address removed)
