Can't set up Windows Mail as Pop3

I bought a new computer from Dell with Vista. I originally tried to set up
Outlook 2007 as a pop3, but it wouldn't take it. it insisted that it be a
http. I have had a pop3 msn account for 11 years, so I know its not a http.
I then found out that Windows mail was to take the place of Outlook Express
and tried to set that up as a pop3, but it keeps on giving me the message
that http not allowed. I have removed the account setup in Outlook, so that
shouldn't be interferring. How do I set up a pop3 accountin Windows Mail?

It's a little bit convoluted, but it works once you are done. Too bad the
WinMail developers didn't talk to the MSN POP3 people!! ;-)

Use the WinMail acct wizard to set up the acct, but use a dummy domain for
your email
acct setup to get around the dumb wizard -- use your (e-mail address removed)
for instance. Set up all the servers, pswds, ports, SSL as per MSN
instrcutions for the new MSN POP3/SMTP Live.com servers.

Then go back in and edit the acct (Tools / Accounts / Properties) and change
the (e-mail address removed) to your real (e-mail address removed).

Also, if you have trouble with outgoing SMTP mail, put your full
(e-mail address removed) in instead of just MSNemailID. Many people -- inc. me --
have had to do that.

You will then be good to go to send/receieve MSN POP3 email using WinMail.
Works like a charm!

Kinda funny... use a "dummy" domain for a "dummy" wizard! Haha!
